This is my least favorite album so far. Bummed they didn't do a traditional opener with a ton of energy. Really really enjoyed Particle Physics, Things Like This, Bloodline. This is personal preference but I get way too much of Justin's solo stuff in some of these songs. I don't think the album is bad by any means but Stop Talking was really the gem that made me excited. I'm just excited to have the guys back and I think whatever their next album is will be even stronger. It always takes some time for people to get back in the groove of things.
No shade cause it happens with every band but I've never understood how people can rank an album within hours of its release. My excitement is too high about having a new release from a favorite band to even think about ranking.
I don't think I realized how much I missed experiencing a new MCS album. This is so, so good. Really looking forward to seeing some of these songs live
I believe it was Dustin from Thrice years ago who said you probably need to listen to an album around 10 times to really be able to judge it.
This is super fun so far, hadn’t really listened to any of the singles but this all sounds like classic MCS to me.
Opener is very Jimmy Eat World and I love it. Also agree that the 3 singles hit way better in the context of the full album.
I'm guilty of it when i'm really high on something. I think Private Music is a top five Deftones album and felt that way pretty much after my first few listens.
I've listened to this twice this morning and this is my favorite album since Commit This and I've really enjoyed some of the others but this is just such a good return to form while also being more mature. I REALLY didn't expect an MCS album to be this good in 2025 (no shade to them, just so many other good releases this year) but here we are. Happy to be surprised by this.
I'd only heard "She Is Afraid" once coming in, so, pretty much blind entry for me. Enjoying this a lot so far, feels great to have them back. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face during "Particle Physics." I know the history between MCS and Patrick, obviously, but I always love when a really big artist appears on a significantly smaller artist's track. Just always feels like one of those things that happens only because they really love it.
First half is good second half is GREAT seems like Justin took some Spanish lessons during the hiatus
"Go" became such a grower for me that I don't want to say "BEST MCS ALBUM SINCE X ALBUM" but this is really great and is making me happy
Happy to have these guys back, enjoyed the advance singles and looking forward to taking a listen. I feel like this is a band I can grow older with vs some of the others from that scene.
Anyone else still awaiting shipping details on vinyl from their merch store? Had hoped it would at least ship this week!
I couldn’t be happier with this, it’s really exceeded any expectations I had when they first started talking about releasing new music. It’s such a perfect blend of them doing what they do best, but trying some new things as well, with a sprinkle of Justin’s solo work in there. Really excited to spend more time with it, it was so worth the wait.
This album is really good. I like Mi Corazon and Bloodline a lot but they almost feel like they belong on a different album - they feel the most similar to Justin’s solo stuff. I LOVE Things Like This - that one stood out to me the most on first listen.
