Another random indicator (from when I was too young to understand entirely) is that SA had some indie clout to tack on top of this scene, at least a little more than MCS at the time. SA had a song or two in Scrubs, a lagging indicator of a broader audience knowing what their deal was, even if it was a less deep read than most of the average MCS fans
The interesting thing is that Saves The Day opened this tour and then four years later, SA did a co-headliner with STD
I wish I knew who was closing the Salt Lake show. It seems like its Say Anything, and if it is, I have no problem leaving early.
Was there a rumored second leg of this tour hitting the east coast? I remember reading it here. Need to see MCS again asap.
I might have one extra ticket to the Chicago show tonight -- any takers? Paid $33; we'll have to walk in together
I don’t want to interrupt this important conversation about which mid-2000s pop punk band is nominally bigger, but I’m here at the MCS gig, and I am so stoked! Trying to convince myself not to buy a signed vinyl copy of the new record, since I already pre-ordered, but then again… I could listen tonight
Hey, I willed it into existence! I got it a couple hours after this. Also, Panic Stations is 10 today. And Even If It Kills Me is 18!
This is pretty good. I really like Things Like This. As usual, I wish I hadn’t listened to the singles so many times since they make up the entire first half of the record.
Thats interesting. I dont know anyone in my fairly large cluster of friends that listened to Say Anything. And they all listened to MCS.
Mine should be delivered tomorrow! I think Glow On is the last preorder I received before or on release day.
"Things Like This" is probably my favourite after first listen. It feels great to have a new MCS album.
