I actually can't believe how much they recaptured their magic on You Know Who the Fuck We Are. It really sounds like an MCS song from the 2000s, and it gives me the specific feeling that I couldn't even really describe, but that I only feel when I listen to them.
I don't get that vibe from that song at all, but it's cool that other people do. I'm getting more Panic Station vibes from it. I'm very hopeful that this album will have a good blend of their sounds over the years. I definitely hear a lot of Justin's solo stuff in here too.
It has the melodic and sonic brightness of songs like "Broken Heart" and "It Had To Be You" so it immediately reminded me of EIIKM. "She Is Afraid," on the other hand, is more plodding and deliberate like some of the songs on Panic Stations, so it makes sense it was originally started during that album.
Yeah, it’s quickly becoming my favourite song they’ve released since the Go era, probably the MDL era. It’s catchy, upbeat, the synth is properly back and popping off, and the production is pretty great. Should have been the first single, and got the music video imo.
Yeah since Panic Stations especially, it seems like Justin's slacker rock influences have come full force. You can really hear the Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., early Flaming Lips vibes a lot, and I can feel it during She Is Afraid, but not as much with YKWTFWA. YKWTFWA is my favorite track of theirs since True Romance probably, although Stop Talking is excellent too.
Ok I’m starting to get a little too hyped now cus that clip also sounds amazing. This album is going to be special
where do you find it if the ol' tunnel bear is set to NZ? I always have a hard time with that part once connected. lol
Yeah. That’s another great song. Probably my least favourite of the three but still great. Justin is KILLING IT vocally, too.
