With all the year end lists coming out, I thought it might be cool to have a thread where people can recommend stuff that's not on everyone's top 10 list.

So, what was your favorite film/TV show/album of the year that no one is talking about?

High Maintenance, which aired a delightful second season and is still one of the most creative shows on TV.

    High Maintenance rules.

Detroiters (R.I.P.) and Corporate on Comedy Central were both fantastic.

A Shot in the Dark on Netflix was cool.

I'm not sure where to watch it, but Alone Together with Little Esther was fun.

Y’all are just listing stuff. Maybe write a half sentence about what it’s about and why it was overlooked if you actually want people to check your recommendations out.

I feel like American Animals didn't get enough love. One of the best heist films I've seen in years.

  12. Blindspotting. It's gotten love, but not enough imo. Couple of great performances from Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal who both wrote the fantastic script, and a strong directorial debut for Carlos Lopez Estrada. The movie had an energy to it that kept me engaged. It's often hilarious and manages to be very effecting as well. One of my favorites of 2018, but maybe the most unsung in my Top 10.

First Man since it barely made an impact at the box office despite having a director whose previous film was a huge hit and the likes of Ryan Gosling in the lead role but I loved it far more than I expected to do so.

Even though it went off in 2017, the correct answer to this is still The Leftovers

  17. The Expanse is the best sci fi show in a very long time. First two seasons are on Amazon Prime and the third should be at some point since Amazon picked up the show.

Detroiters was amazing, hilarious, and surprisingly sweet.

Totally forgot about Assassination Nation. Not a great film but it had a lot in it that I liked.

I don’t know a lot of Eastwood’s work outside of Gran Torino but your reaction compared to the pretty unanimous hate has me so curious

I genuinely adore the film, but it’s also fun to praise it because people really don’t like it
