Yeah, they released Demitasse as a single back in 2019 and it felt like there was some momentum, but I’d bet the pandemic caused them to pause their plans. With the lukewarm reception to Oh, Common Life (which I agree, was fantastic), my guess is that they want to wait until they can try to make a real push as opposed to just putting it out with no support. So, I would kind of be surprised if it theoretically got released earlier than fall/winter.
I can't believe they are still a band, they were a joke when they first came on the scene and have stayed that way ever since
Hopefully Simple Plan is finally ready to release their new album. It's been what seems like forever!
well also their bassist has some pretty heinous abuse allegations against him and the band is sticking by him
Don't sleep on Closure in Moscow which is dropping this year. Pink Lemonade was my AOTY in 2014. Also new Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul this year from the TDE crew.
Can't imagine why someone would be anticipating an album made by an abuser and his apologists/enablers but hey, that's just me
(I did not write the blurb in question, but wanted to give an update.) Many of us were unaware of the allegations. Other artists were not included on this list from our initial list for the same reasons. As such with the new information (to us) at hand, we have removed them from this list and our upcoming review calendar. Thanks for letting us know. Cc: @Anthony_ and others here
Wow, is this confirmed? They're amazing and yeah "Pink Lemonade" was solid as fuck! I'll need to revisit it too.
Also, I higly anticipate new Hidden In Plain View, there were some hints like they should give us some new music in 2020, but the times might have not been too good of course. and wow, definitely new Circa Survive and The Sound Of Animals Fighting this year! gates were preparing some new material too, hopefully they'll be able to finish and release it this year. As for some confirmed releases for now I'm looking forward to check out CARM and another installment from Aaron Marsh's project Glaswing. "Little Oblivions" by Julien Baker is definitely my most anticipated off of the list for now.
Not officially but some of their comments on the old social media makes it seem very likely. Pink Lemonade is so so so so good.
