Yeah def baffled by the Thrice omission. I thought that one would be included. Anticipated by: this site's owner
Foxing, 1975, Pianos, The Wonder Years. Don't get the hype behind people saying Thrice. Last release was underwhelming.
Off the top of my head - Genocide Pact, Khemmis, Wake, Gatecreeper/Iron Reagan split, Twitching Tongues, Of Feather and Bone, Memoriam, At the Gates, Thrice, Mammoth Grinder, Ecostrike. I'll also give Deafheaven a begrudging listen when it comes out and have fond memories for Roads to Judah and Sunbather.
Love the reasoning they've started opening shows with Cathedrals...that song is incredible and takes soo much energy to play.
Lydia's (recently completed) forthcoming album is up near the top of the list for me. I know a lot of people disagree, but I think Run Wild is their best yet—I can't wait to hear new stuff from them.
Carly Rae Jepsen, Ellie Goulding, The 1975 + Kacey Musgraves are all in my top 10 most anticipated, so great to see them featured here. Two other most anticipated albums have already come out (Fall Out Boy, Camila Cabello). I haven't been keeping up with stuff, but based on previous release cycles, I'm hoping we could see new stuff from Thrice, Little Mix, Grimes, Christine and the Queens, Lady Gaga, Marina and the Diamonds, Florence + the Machine, Years & Years, Vampire Weekend, Rihanna, Panic! At the Disco, Alabama Shakes, etc. Before I go on a deep dive through Google, has anyone heard if any of the above will likely release an album this year?
The Sidekicks AOTY. They used to get love at the absolute url but not on chorus at all for some reason. Awkward Breeds and RITNW were amazing. Their LP before those (Weight of Air) was really good too.
I understand that completely. I just meant news concerning them completing the recording process of their new album to be released in 2018. I submitted multiple news tips concerning their new album in hopes it would make the feed but it didn't. I'm not complaining, I just think they deserve more attention. I'd hate to see them go the way of The Swellers, a great band that had to quit because of a small fan base and not enough income from music releases to keep going.
I feel you, I only meant to say that I think you'll see interest pick up when there's some concrete info. I know I'm looking forward to it! I don't think very many news posts get made for recording updates, except from bands that have a huge following around here. Any idea when it's supposed to come out?
I wish I knew. I've been asking around a lot. All I know is that they wrapped recording in December, then mastered the album a few weeks later.
Now Now is all that matters Okay not really but good list anyway! Agree with a lot of these and a lot of the replies as well
THIS. Also: The 1975 (which is, as of now, my most anticipated), Ryan Key, The Wonder Years, Pianos Become The Teeth, The Hunna, George Ezra
Definitely feels like it's been a long time coming, so I hope so for them as much as fans! How did you find the Camila Cabello album in the end? Fuck, I love Runners In The Nerved World!
