how did I not know about this guy before the pitchfork review? this is right up my alley

 

this is really pretty. any recs based off this? This year has been so stacked for alternative R&B/pop.
Just this week alone was Jhené Aiko and this. A lot to digest just from those two records alone

 

Serpentwithfeet is a bit weirder but yes.

This thing is fucking mindblowingly good. It was my last VMP record of the month before a three month subscription ended and I didn't know anything about it. I had even had it swapped out for the new War on Drugs (which I still haven't gotten around to listening to oops) but then decided it'd be fun to just be surprised by something. Holy hell I'm glad I took the chance. I still know nothing about them other than how much I love this. Need to educate myself further asap

That might have been my favorite tiny desk performance I’ve seen this year.

 

This guy is likely a jazzier version of James Vincent McMorrow and I feel like I should love it but I can't say that I did

 

This should be on everyone's Best Of lists

 

Seeing him live was even better than I was expecting and I was pretty hyped going in

I honestly don't feel like I'm being all that hyperbolic when I say it was one of the best things I've ever experienced and he is one of the great vocalists of human history

 

This sounds good. Give me all of this.
