I do agree that the fight should have been before the immortality thing because right away you knew what was going to happen. Could have at least had Cole do some small damage and then have that the be the reason he wants the immortality. But damn they did Cole dirty too after just talking about his wife and daughter lol

  6. Are you not going in expecting camp? Did you at least have fun or were you miserable the entire time? This is the kind of thing where Pen would say "you always go to a thread for a movie just to shit on it without providing any explanation" to which you say "uh no I don't." Look, I'm not even hating. Just, try to contribute to the discussion a bit more plz, Pat

  7. the johnny cage movie within a movie was more camp and fun than this movie itself was. all of the katana and kung lao stuff felt so self-serious.

This was a fucking blast. Can't wait for MKIII. They definitely cooked with this one.

I thought this was pretty fun in spots – the fatalities especially – but also real bad and kinda boring in spots? Raiden is consistently such a bad actor that it had me yearning for Christopher Lambert.

I will go see MKIII opening night, regardless.

The problem is that Lambert had an "I don't give a fuck" attitude to his role that ironically made his Raiden incredibly likeable; Tadanobu Asano's Raiden is played completely straight and so loses a lot of the charm.

I also don't think Karl Urban is as good as Linden Ashby. But then again, that whole 95 movie is great because everyone is chewing the scenery in a way that makes it fun and entertaining; it understands how crazy the premise is and runs with it, and it looks like everyone is having a good time. And when the cast is having a good time, the audience tends to follow.

This film works because it's just all action, 100% from the get-go, and IMO doesn't waste time on anything unnecessary. And it's fucking cool to see all these gnarly moves done not just accurately, but seamlessly in the action. And I think most of the cast did fairly well with what they were given to work with. I liked Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.

But it also probably takes the material too seriously to its detriment.

    Everyone's head rings here

Just watched last night and enjoyed it a lot. The fatalities were fucking brutal.

Marked out hard for Noob Saibot. Always a favorite of mine.

I'm so glad they did not say Noob Saibot in the movie.

  14. I think he’s only ever mentioned by name in MK: Armageddon (maybe I’m missing another instance)

but yeah I agree. Just stick to Bi-Han. Please

  15. I probably missed it being talked about prior but it looks like Tremor was originally in the movie and was gonna fight Sonya. There’s concept art about it

but was eventually replaced with Sindel in that fight
