I don’t think I’ve ever seen Martyn Ford in anything but his portrayal of Shao Khan is pretty fucking insane. He’s a body builder so he’s a big dude but his screen presence was absolutely crazy.
Highly recommend it. I’m not going to go into anything about plot details. If someone really needs to know please dm so we don’t muddy up the thread. Excited to talk about it once everyone checks it out.
Rewatching MK 2021 right now It’s honestly just kinda boring It’s hurt by so much having to be setup setup setup, there’s just nothing to latch on to or care about pretty much everyone is giving bad performances Kano’s comic relief is fun but only goes so far And CG Goro is ROUGH
Mortal Kombat 2 star says the first movie was "kind of like a prequel" as the sequel finally launches the tournament | GamesRadar+ Posting this because it's really funny to make Lewis Tan do press for this movie.
The all-time funniest example of an actor having to oversell their role is when they announced that Edward Furlong was "coming back" for Terminator 6 and it is just a little motion capture to be blown away in the first five minutes.
I really like Lewis Tan but I think trying to create this new character for the movie in a world with like 50+ beloved characters and make them the focal point hurt him a lot. You could’ve cast him as a ton of MK guys and it would’ve ruled
I watched the originals and 2021 over the last week and I didn’t remember Goro looking that bad lmao Give me 95 Goro every time
Need is probably a strong word. I have to imagine if you're at all familiar with Mortal Kombat lore, then you'll be fine. A couple deaths happened in the first film, but I don't know if that makes it required viewing.
If you’re familiar with MK lore then no. There’s a plot point in the first one called arcana which explains how characters get powers but that is completely dropped in the sequel.
