Hell yeah excited. First was flawed but fun and I adored the cast except for the character of Cole Young

 

Kill Cole in the opening scene ala Johnny Cage, and actually have a tournament.

and bring back Kano somehow

 

Isn't Kano back anyway? I thought the end of the movie established that everyone who died on Shang's side was gonna be revived. Am I remembering wrong?

 

Who knows I forget most of the movie

 

I like how Cole was established as this washed-up nobody and by the end of the movie he's bossing around a war veteran and a warrior monk like he's top shit. Like, I do want Lewis Tan to get more roles, but the character was dumb and unnecessary.

I don't necessarily want the character killed off, but I wouldn't mind if he maybe took more of a backseat and let the other characters run the show.

 

Kill him off. Best wow-factor they can surprise the audience with. Franchise has so many characters and so many stories they can mess with and still keep it MK.

Kano being brought back is totally feasible. I can see a really great scene of him coming out of a portal as a revived reveal in his most well known look (bald and the metal cover over his eye after having been stabbed there in the first film and his actual eye being gone).




Sub-Zero’s return as Noob Saibot and his brother taking his mantle is the only side story I’d like to really see take up time from the actual tournament storyline itself. Also the only solid MK lore really followed and set up in the first film.

So is the sequel dead in the water? Feel like I have not heard a peep on this front in some time.

 

nope! Ed Boon is involved now and as of just last month, he was reading the script.

 

Hopefully it's gorier than the first with Boon involved

 

I can't help but feel like they'll have more rope overall with the sequel, and drop Hero Protagonist from the story.

 

Still think they should've just made him Johnny Cage.

 

They could’ve done a lot of things unfortunately.

 

They could still make him Johnny Cage…by killing him in the first scene of the second movie

 

Have Linden Ashby pop out of the corner of the screen and bellow TOASTY.

 

Should just get Matthew Lillard as Shaggy to appear.
