Why did I think he was skinny for some reason? It’s been years since I’ve played a video game lol

Oh yeah - fuck that. I remember playing as this guy and liking him. Stupid move.

 

That’s his original look when he was first made, which was basically a ninja color swap. This is the Reiko they’re using for inspiration.

 

He’s way more athletic than the film depiction still

 

Nathan Jones isn’t athletic? I think he just appears “large” in that way to you cause of some heavy armor and maybe what appears to be practical FX on his face. He’s also 6’11” so they are definitely making him shorter in the film and that might possibly be making his extremely built physique seem off.

 

Yeah, I mean take a look at the dude's biceps in that pic, it's just a weird angle/body armor, he's obviously jacked as hell lol

Das Reptile in the first film as well. Man is a legit MK vet lol.

 

Honestly how did they not cast Nathan Jones as Shao Kahn lol. I remember this video dropping of him and thinking his personality/height/physique couldn’t be more perfect for it.

 

I initially thought that’s who he was playing. Reiko wasn’t even a possibility in my head.

 

Does anyone remember this awesomely corny but fun fight scene he was in? (He even lands a Shao Kahn shoulder charge on Tony lol):

 

I honestly feel like they’re trying to land someone big for Cage and Shao Khan.

It probably doesn’t matter as much for Khan unless they plan on pulling a Brian Thompson and having him with his face out 95% of the movie.

I’m still hoping for a post credits Khan tease. Or Quan Chi

 

I also wouldn’t be mad if the rumors/script rumor of the credit scene being (MASSIVE POTENTIAL SPOILER BTW) the earth realm fighters showing up to a movie set is true either.

 

Yeah most leaks report a post-credit scene teasing a Johnny Cage cameo or reference and I’m all for it.

 

Who's playing Khan in this, Hafthor Bjornsson?

 

I wonder if we’ll get any Khan in this. Maybe a voice teaser, silhouette, something silly.

I’m still trying to piece together in my head who we likely see actually survive the film lmao.


Cole, Jax, Sonya, Liu Kang, Kano? maybe, Mileena can get resurrected six times over.

Goro, Kabal, Reptile, Sub-Zero, Reiko probably all bite dust.

 

Outside of his statue appearing in the trailer, it doesn’t seem confirmed yet if he’s physically in the film.

 

I think Sonya, Jax, Liu Kang and Cole survive for the good guys. Cole possibly becomes someone else?

Sub-Zero definitely dies to become Noob at some point and so his good guy brother can come into play. Goro, Reptile, Kabal and Reiko are definitely donezo.

I think Kano survives to turn heel and be a bad guy in the future. Mileena likely barely survives to go back and report to Kahn. No idea if Shang even fights in this film.

 

Liu Kang might make it to the sequel it least if it follows game continuity. Cole will probably live, and Scorpion's too iconic to die just yet. The filmmaker basically said they want one comic relief character per film, so in addition to the deaths we see in the trailer, guessing Kano doesn't make it to part two if Cage appears in the next one.

 

I feel like Kang would have a bigger role in a sequel depending on what they do with Cole.

 

They’ve also given away like four deaths in the trailer unless they swerve completely lol
