Mortal Engines - Christian Rivers (December 14, 2018) Movie

I'll admit; having not seen anything other than this trailer this actually looks very good. Read a statement somewhere that this is "Howl's Moving Castle" meets "Mad Max" but the trailer sold it for me. I'll definitely be making a start on the book series once i'm finished with Wheel of Time.

 

Yikes.

 

I actually quite enjoyed this despite its flaws but I am doubtful it will find much of an audience considering I was the only one at the showing I went to, which is a first.

 

Been enjoying the score for this immensely which is easily one of the best things about the film

Such a bummer it's flopping. Not super surprised overall, though. Might still check it out since I've been a longtime fan of the books.

 

Even though I liked the film it was probably because Universal knew their other releases were going to make a lot of money so this is the tax write off film.

 

This is really bad but also fun to watch and very pretty.

A better script might have saved it.

Saw this as my boss paid for us to go as part of our office Christmas celebrations. It was an average film but better than I expected it to be. It dragged a bit in the middle but I enjoyed it for what it was.

 

I can never tell if these movies are as absurd as those trailers make them out to be. Based on that, I would never watch this.
