Ive noticed a lot of the new songs are very similar structurally. I haven't been a Moose Blood fan for very long but these new tracks seem a tad bit disappointing, too safe. Hope there are better on the actual album.
I couldn't make it past track 7. This record is atrocious. Which songs are supposed to be the saving grace, @teebs41?
Record is definitely a disappointment though. I enjoyed the last album a lot more. I won't be coming back to this too much, could be a guilty pleasure at times but it's pretty generic
I'm probably going to end up deleting this. Too much good music out there to settle for this mediocre garbage.
Lol, yea but I'm a sucker for letting things grow on me. I don't like to judge an album until I've heard it 3 times no matter how much I don't like it on the first listen
I'm with you 100%, but there's just no substance here. Like there are albums that I find overwhelming at first (OK Computer or White Pony come to mind) and that's why it's hard to enjoy right away, but this is actively offensive. Especially the lyrics. Jesus, how old are these guys?
Almost done my first listen and I'm probably being a little bias since I love this band but I'm digging it. I know it will grow on me too but I don't think it'l ever overtake their last record for me. Stoked to get the vinyl in!
I really like this, but it's definitely nowhere near as good as IKYIM. Production feels too clean for me, and I think they've lost the little bit of bite they had. Regardless, the songwriting is still good and the songs are enjoyable.
I didn't like their last one much so I'm sure this is going to be pretty make or break for me. The way everyone feels about this seems like how I felt about ikyim, after their first couple eps
I think this album is kinda uninspired? I don't say that I don't like it, some parts are catchy but this is not kind of album that I would listen again and again. Listening to the album with reading the lyrics only make it worse though.
Welp, guess I'm the only one who enjoys this album way more than their last. Same here. I thought the last one was much more generic, but to each his own.
First time through and I only really liked Shiver and Spring. My friend group is all over this. Maybe I'll give this more time.
Seems a little samey Album is alright. Mostly forgettable tracks. But Freckle is the best song they've ever done.
I love the album so far, I've listened to it about 3x. It sucks because if a band changes their sound, people will complain. If bands don't change their sound, people will complain. It's a lose / lose for them. I'm enjoying this one just as much as their last, from start to finish. Not really a summer album though - would've fit well in October.
Just starting my first listen of the new album in full. Haven't really listened to Moose Blood until I heard Knuckles a few weeks ago. Have casually listened to IKYIM a few times while working and nothing really caught on. However Knuckles and Honey have been stuck in my head. Older fans may be a little disappointed but given that this is the album I'm first getting to know them on, I think they've got some catchy stuff on Blush just from the singles that have pulled me in more than the old album.
