Really really liked this, but thought the first third of this was the worst section by far. I understood trying to make the chaos of the cinematography mirror his adeptness and mental state, but it didn’t make for a good viewing experience.

however, I absolutely loved the fresh take on a movie like this, and the aspects around the Indian politics and culture of were fantastic. I need to read up more about the mythology of the film. And the second to third acts were spectacular imo, even if the community showing up at the fight was cheesy.

and didn’t expect this to have Indian otherly “trans” representation (if I was interpreting this correctly)! There’s enough about this that I loved that I’m very excited about Devs next film.

I wish this movie got another film, as a series of Monkey Man fighting and killing other Indian deities would be fucking sickkkk

Thought this was very good, not quite great. Considering the budget and it being Dev’s first film, it’s an accomplishment. Very fun at times. A little long. Enjoyed it!

Thinking back on this movie a year later, I remember what was cool faster than I remember whatever qualities kept me from fully loving it.

Very excited to see how he presumably, hopefully levels up on his next one.
