yeah, exactly. sure, they aren't close to playing like 1000 cap venues but at least in my world this amount of hype is considered blowing up, haha
By definition, a band 'blowing up' or 'getting massive' is self evident. If you have to argue a band is blowing up, they probably aren't, because if they were blowing up, you wouldn't have to make the argument. The song is fine. It feels like the sort of thing that would be better with multiple listens or in the context of a full record than just a single, I think. I'll be interested to hear what the whole thing sounds like.
i'd say "blowing up" is relative. as i said, in the circles i consider them in, they are huge. massive. scene transcending almost to a point. to some people they are a complete unknown. but their trajectory right now is pretty obvious
I find this thread a bit confounding, because the debate about "blowing up" is mostly between people talking about quality (and that they're mediocre), and others talking about popularity, which are mutually exclusive.
