I can guarantee there were a lot of old MM fans I knew in college that said they sold out with Good News.

 

TM&A is my number 1 of theirs. Just an absolutely perfect album.

 

That one has a special place for me. 3rd Planet is a fave for sure. And my wife walked down the aisle to Gravity Rides Everything

 

I think it's LCW for me, but it's more like 1A and 1B between that and M&A. Both 10's.

 

I'd concur with that. Building Nothing etc is just a shade below.

 

Building Nothing is amazing because even though it’s just an album of B-sides and singles, it literally sounds like a cohesive album. I still get blown away whenever I listen to it

 

Not an album but no one’s first and your next is full of bangers for an ep of leftovers.

 

Building Nothing was actually my gateway into them and still one of my faves. Broke gives me chills every time

 

build nothing and LCW are my top tier.

 

Building Nothing rules, totally agree that it sounds like a cohesive album in its own right

 

“Whale Song” is a ripper.

gonna give a shout out to Long Drive (still my favorite), but I celebrate the whole discography

 

I flip back and forth between M&A and LCW as my favorite, then it’s Long Drive, then We Were Dead. Honestly have never liked Good News as much as most people but it’s definitely good still

just realized it’s gonna be a year of 20th anniversaries for some of the most formative albums in my life (good news, futures, 3 cheers, hot fuss, etc etc)

genuinely don't think this band has made an album that isn't like a 7.5 or higher, the songs are Strangers are good, it just lacks the cohesion and identity of their other records imo.
