Pretty clear they scrapped that album after the reception to StO. I imagine whatever’s next will be entirely new material or heavily reworked versions of songs from that album.

 

Was the reception poor? I really liked that album.

I really enjoyed it. I think expectations were sky high after the long wait

 

I thought STO was fine and still do. Nothing groundbreaking but nothing bad either. I would be surprised if the bland reaction to STO was the reason it’s been 4 years for a follow up.

 

I still want to hear the stuff they did with Big Boi just out of curiosity.

 

like most MM albums, STO could have dropped like five tracks and been a classic. but that’s ok, it’s kinda part of the fun

 

ground walks is one of their best songs for sure. pups to dust is one of my personal favorites as well

 

Strangers to Ourselves is great, honestly never understood what others felt that album was missing. It's as good as any post-2000 MM album
