I have been a MM fan since like 2002, but I feel like I feel like I lost interest in them like 5 years ago. I saw them so many times in one year and by the end of it I just wasnt excited anymore.
last time they came through utah i paid 50 bucks and honestly wasn't worth it with how many times i've seen em. i'll still be stoked for the new record
While Isaac's not very consistent live, I applaud the band for never having the same set. I've always been surprised by something every time I see them.
Last two times I saw MM, their sound was iffy at best. I can't imagine it'd translate well in an arena.
It is interesting, the general attitude towards their live performances now with a dozen people on stage is not positive. One of my favorite youtube wormholes is shitty vhs recordings of mid-late 90s MM as a trio.
i've only seen them live once, but i thought it was awesome, but friends of mine at the same show were disappointed. i've seen plenty of recent live videos though so many i knew what to expect? i dunno, sometimes they seem too drunk to play well and other times they can be purely magical, it's definitely weird. i absolutely love the fact that they change the set list every night though, to be able to practice and pull off that many different songs live on each tour must be really difficult! and it's awesome not knowing what song could be coming next, especially in a world where tour setlists get spoiled quickly. so, i'm a bit bummed that poison the well seems to only be getting a b-side single release rather than being a part of a new album, i love the live renditions of that song. also points to not getting a new album this year which is definitely a bummer.
Tony has great taste in music! The video game soundtracks were usually on point and Birdhouse/other companies videos he's skated for usually have dope songs in them:
That second tweet said "March 29", doesn't look like there are any tour dates then. Is there maybe some information about a single/album with the puzzle? Or is it something else?
I think it’d be weird to do this surprise marketing campaign for a record store day single but I’m not holding my breath on anything I’m excited for new music whenever it gets here though
I wonder what kind of legal trouble MM were in for it to take 4+ years to release something after STO.
