I was wrong. The song rules.

What are people enjoying about the song? Maybe I’m missing something.

I think the single is just ok. Hopefully the rest of the album is a bit better. I wasn’t blown away by STO, but I think Lampshades was a better single

Your asking....why someone would enjoy something you don’t? Music is subjective. Kinda a weird question

Im asking what elements people find themselves enjoying. Personally, I like talking about the music I like. I’m not asking it in bad-faith.

Fair enough. I personally think the production is much better than STO for one, and I really like the guitar tone. It’s not gonna be the best song on the album obviously, and it’s not even really that much of a MM song. Though like others said it’s a good “single”.

I agree with the guitar tone, really the music itself I like. I think there’s something about the vocal mix and the gang vox on the chorus not sitting well with me. I don’t hate the song, I just see a lot of people saying “awesome track!” and it makes me curious about what they’re seeing in it that I’m not lol

The guitar tone rules and the song got me pumped up for a new modest mouse album.

  10. Guitar tone is great, love hearing Brock's voice again, love the gang vocals, love the dark and dancey mood of the track, the existential lyrics...yeah. I just think it's a great track.

It fits pretty well in the Float On / Dashboard / Lampshades on Fire line of big, borderline anthemic rock songs. I'm hoping it's the most "radio-friendly" track on the album and everything else gets a lot weirder, but I think it's a strong start.

is it the same for you? Prestigious

We Were Dead is probably my least favorite of the post-Moon & Antarctica era where they got bigger in sound, but I still love that record. Someday, I will see “March Into The Sea” live.
