I like The Golden Casket because Modest Mouse is my favorite band, but it is still definitely my least favorite record of theirs since Sad Sappy Sucker. I felt like that was out of line with what everyone else thought of it when it was released, so it's a little vindicating to see the lukewarm opinions now haha
I think the instrumental sections sound especially good. Really nailing some of what I love about the band, even if the verses aren't exactly what I was hoping for.
As someone with two kids learning to tie their shoes I also can't wait for them to lace their own damn shoes (successfully)
