i've long given up on this band's new music, just chalking it up to the longevity of muses. but given how on point their live sets have been, i'll hold out a lill bit of hope it'll be at least decent. Strangers was decent. Golden Casket was rainbow vomit
golden casket is really, really bad. im usually pretty good meeting acts on their own terms but those are impossible terms for me isaac lol
it's grown on me a little with time, especially Lace Your Shoes and Wooden Soldiers are really good songs, but it's definitely their worst album
wooden soldiers i do admit is the one "we can still write a really good song" moment for me. that one is genuinely great
Was just about to say this - I love that song. Golden casket would have been a great EP of Fuck Your Acid Trip, Wooden Soldiers, Transmitting Receiving, Japanese Trees and Back To The Middle.
The Golden Casket hate in here is silly. It's a good record. This song is...not great. Hopefully a holdover single or something that works better in context.
Strangers has more solid material, but Casket is more cohesive and takes more swings. I also think their worst album is substantially more interesting than a lot of bands' middling material.
I love this band and don’t think I listened to Casket more than 2 or 3 times. That’s not because it’s terrible, but I don’t know why I would reach for it when I’m in the mood for MM unless I’m specifically doing a discography run.
I don't have kids fwiw I just think Lace is, y'know, a good and emotional piece of music! as for this new song, like the energy and glad its not overproduced to hell like Casket but that chorus is pretty bad lmao
I haaaaate the opener lol, kind of puts me off the whole record when I’m sure there’s some good stuff on there if I would give it more of a chance.
