same STO has higher highs but I think TGC is more consistent.

 

The Golden Casket is probably my least favorite of their records (maybe ahead of Sad Sappy Sucker). I like it, but don’t love it.

 

Starting to realize I don’t really even know STO. GC is dope though.

 

Lampshades, ground walks, sugar boats, wicked campaign, the tortoise and the best room are all top tier MM

 

Not a fan of that album, but four of those songs are jams.

One of my fav jams from these guys that is post WWDBTSES is The Whale Song. So fun

 

The whale song absolutely rules. So fun live.

 

Almost all of No One's First is pretty great.
I have TGC and STO level at this point but Ground Walks and Best Room are the two best tracks.

I don't like Wicked Campaign, but otherwise, hell yeah

 

Looking at that tracklist, I'll go to bat from pretty much every song except "Wicked Campaign" lol. It's a strong record

 

Shit in Your Cut, Pistol (it's good), Ansel, Coyotes, Pups to Dust, Be Brave...

 

Yeah there are no bad songs on it.

i have always thought pistol was a total flop lol. a lot of strangers does not really do much for me these days

Pistol sort of encapsulates what I don’t like about newer MM. It’s real corny and sounds like something a villain in a kids movie would sing.

 

Modest Mouse have always been slightly corny. I don't get the kid's movie villain thing at all though.

 

The song is inspired by true events?? It literally just sounds like a better-produced track from Lonesome Crowded West or something lol
