I was at this show as well. Not sure if this was addressed yet in this forum but the original set had Mene, Nightmare and At The Bottom on there but they were cut out due to the late start, as you mentioned. The original set also had Play Crack the Sky instead of Soco. Personally, I thought it was one of the better BN shows I've seen and I've seen em 8 times now.
Anyone know what happened at the Brand New Tulsa show last night? I saw someone tweet out "What just happened in Tulsa, Jesse is pissed" then he responded to another account saying "Jesse stormed off stage."
I heard they started late so they had to cut the set short. Not sure if that's what upset Jesse or not though.
Looking at the setlist from last night it seems like that wasn't the issue because they still made it through 16 songs in roughly the same order they usually do. Also mixtape was played, not sure if that's new for this tour or not.
I would be happy if Mixtape gets played tonight. No Seatbelt Song is the only YFW song I've seen them play the other 3 times I've seen them.
I really want them to play 70x7 since I've never heard it live before, but I know that's not gonna happen. Mixtape would be cool too though.
They closed out with You Won't Know and before the song was over he just dropped his guitar and looked like he stormed off the stage. The rest of the band finished the song. I'm not sure what happened but the crowd was getting kind of rough and a fight broke out a few songs into their set and then another towards the end when people were trying to crowd surf.
I saw them 3 times over the course of Austin city limits last fall (both weekends of the fest and an after show in between) and I remember them playing it at one of those dates. I think the most recent time was in Toronto on their tour with mwY and it was the only night of that tour that they played it (but I'm not 100% sure)
I'm in the minority I guess because the only song from YFW i would care to hear is SoCo since I've seen Jude Law / Mixtape / 70x7 / No Seatbelt
I've seen soco 70x7 and mixtape but I don't think I've seen Jude law. I would like to but I also accepted that I never would. They may have played it the first time I saw them in 2006 but let's be real I don't remember at all. Lol
Yeah it had gotten to the outro but he looked like he was legitimately annoyed about something imo. Maybe not though and that's just how he normally closes shows. It was a great show btw, hope my post didn't make it seem otherwise. Starts at 6 minutes.
Correction, it was June 9th, not June 29th. I wouldn't be surprised if 70x7 made an appearance at one of the date's before the end of this tour.
For those of you who had shows start at 7:30, how much in-between time was there between the two bands and when did the second band go on?
Modest mouse is just now starting 30 minutes late, anybody have that happen at other shows? Hoping it doesn't cut into brand new's set.
Brand new started 20 min late last night but Jesse said " We have 4 minutes" before the last song so probably not
Also MM set was disappointing in Tulsa. Singles and Good News\WWD stuff. Only good surprises were What People Are Made Of and Styrofoam Boots. I love the new stuff but they overplayed it.
