it would for sure be the most benign thing i have ever been banned on anything for

i do still think we were dead is the standard for post moon mm, i jammed that last night and it really is one of their most consistent records even including the early ones, and the high points are straight up some of the best songs i have ever heard

  2. The back half of We Were Dead has way more non-essential tracks than any part of Good News (saying this as someone who loves both records). I understand subjectivity, but any Good News slander is like...one of those takes that truly baffles me

education is the only one thats really a skip and i would listen to it over dance hall and workday any day. the tom waits'y songs are such an acquired taste that you gotta step back and understand they're not gonna be everyone's thing lol, i have been listening to good news for over a decade and like those songs less than i do now, it just evens out that i like the view and bukowski more than i used to

if you understand subjectivity, no "slander" should be baffling. the overprotectiveness around albums like that here if anything kind of make the music harder to speak on their own terms. my favorite album of theirs is tlcw and it has been victim of that for a long time which is why i dont really give a shit when i see it get picked apart
