Modern Love (Prime) TV Show

Once and Sing Street helmer Carney writes, directs and serves as EP. Additionally, Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), Tom Hall (Sensation) and Emmy Rossum (Shameless) directed episodes of the series. Horgan directed the Fey-Slattery led episode, which she also penned. Hall also wrote his episode and Rossum will direct an episode written by the late Audrey Wells (Under the Tuscan Sun).

Watched the first couple episodes of this tonight. On one hand, it’s nice to enjoy the mindless nostalgia of something similar to Love Actually without having to deal with all of the problems that movie has. On the other, it felt a little too “like this if you cry every time” for me in places. Gonna keep watching regardless — I started for Fey and I’m not stopping til I see her!

 

Love Actually is a pretty good comparison since some stories are much better than others, and the bad ones are pretty rough. I definitely think the season was frontloaded. Still need to see the last though.

 

Last episode made me feel better about the season as a whole.

 

I really enjoyed the first two episodes. There's nothing fresh or new, but I love Dev Patel and Cristin Milioti so I think they really sold it. Stuff like this really hinges on the actors for me.

 

Oh wow okay, episode 3 with the hook. That was fantastic

 

Woof. 5 & 6 were rough. Lol this show is wildly inconsistent, even for an anthology series

 

Landed the plane with 7 & 8. Yeah I dunno if I’ll giving any hard recommendations for anybody to watch this, but the highs were pretty high.

 

This was very nice through and through. Some great episodes, some bad, but a great little series for right now

 

Dev and the zoo > Cristin and her doorman > hospital stuff > old love and tying up loose ends > Tina Fey and mad man > two men and a baby > Daddy issues > Anne Hathaway singalong

episodes 3 and 4 have been pretty bad so far imo. episodes 1 and 2 was good though.

 

I just watched 1 and it was NOT good, so now I'm very scared for 3 and 4 haha

 

season was bad haha

one episode was quite good. i want to say episode 7? but i can’t remember and it wasn’t good enough to sit through the other bullshit

 

damn, what happened? season 1 wasn't like, the best show ever, but why the drop in quality so quick?

 

The Anna Paquin episode might be the worst episode of TV I've seen this whole year

 

I liked the sleepover at the school episode, but yeah…that Anna Paquin episode was really odd and bad.
