Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they start out not very serious about doing this full time? I thought they just kind of did it in between classes on summer break and stuff and then it just kept snowballing. It's not surprising that it got hard for them. I will always hope they come back, but I won't hold my breath either.

 

Yeah they were balancing college with the band for the first few years at least. I think about these guys quite a bit, would love to see them one more time.

I've been listening to Slaughter Beach, Dog to get my fill of Jake songs. If we don't hear from MoBo again, another release from that project would be nice

 

They went out with a solid tape that earned my respect

 

even if I didn't like them much musically I hope that their mentality leads to a better scene going forward

 

Jake literally just put new SBD music 5 days ago

 

And the second full length is coming out later this year.

 

The new Slaughter Beach Dog EP is very good.

Wow that's really awesome to see. Probably a good idea for them to start slow with a one off show. Wonder if they're planning to come back in full or just do some shows around Philly. Either way happy to see some activity from the band!

 

i still don't know for sure if it's just as a backing band or if they get a full set. either way, amazing opportunity and i'm sure they're so excited

 

Hopefully they are easing themselves back into things. One show here, a couple later in the year. Maybe take more time out and tour less in the future.

 

Oh yea I see what you're saying. Well I'll take it for what it is now and keep my fingers crossed that they won't be gone for as long as I thought they would. Awesome for them either way.

I legitimately have no idea who he is. Not sure if it's because I'm from the UK or not though.

 

a classic 80's/90s singersongwriter, huge influence for a lot of indie musicians

 

I've heard his name but I know very little about him.

For what it's worth, Run For Cover tweeted that Modern Baseball is "opening up" for Daniel Johnson.

Edit: Just kidding, they changed the tweet to say they are the backing band, so I don't think they're actually playing their own set.

Brendan just announced a mini acoustic tour this fall, playing mobo songs.

Edit: actually don't see an announcement anywhere, but a local date popped up on my Facebook and says its part of a "birthday acoustic tour" so probably announced soon?

 

I will be there!
