Fuck, I love these guys. Great music, great people. That article is really incredible, was going to post it myself earlier but I saw I was beaten to it. Can't stress enough how incredible this band is.
Going to have to spin HG tomorrow. I liked it on first listen but it never stuck with me. That article was great though and lends a new perspective. Plus with fall coming it feels like a better time for the record.
Didn't really like them before I heard this, and even after I wasn't exactly dying to go back to their older albums, but last two weeks or so I've had You're Gonna Miss It All on repeat and it is such an incredible album, finally starting to love this band!
They're two entirely different albums tonally and while I think YGMIA is more consistent and immediate, this album just hits me so so hard due to its subject matter
this is a pretty decent album. not unlisetanble like their previous stuff and actually has some good songs on it. got some alkaline trio vibes from a couple of the songs.
It's been a minute since I listened to this. I still really enjoy it, the last two songs in particular are really great.
Jake released a solo album under the name Slaughter Beach, Dog. Haven't listened to the whole thing, but I like what I've heard so far. Slaughter Beach, Dog offers a warm Welcome on its debut album
This album really surprised me, I really dig it. "Mass" sounds like a 50/50 mix of The Weakerthans and The Hold Steady, which is sick
ummm, I have come around to this album in a big, big way. "Everyday" and "Hiding" are straight fucking incredible. Definitely prefer Jake's tracks.
my favorites too. have you listened to his other project slaughter beach, dog? a lot of good songs on there done in a similar vein.
definitely prefer the first half but overall still a great great record, not sure why some people are so hard on it
