Oh yeah, absolutely. I think this band has done an incredible job progressing past their immature whining about girls upbringing and may finally be shaping into a real respectable band soon. At the very least their actions show they're finally past the gross pop punk scene
I don't know if you read the article about them removing their song "It's Cold Out Here" because it used the word "bitch" and despite them referring to themselves as the "bitch" of the song, fans would scream it in an uncomfortable way that felt more sexist than reflective like they intended but it shows as a scene we're trying to progress rather than regress. I hope hotlines become commonplace in any type of shows to be honest, I feel like a lot of bands are all talk when it comes to important issues like this
Yeah, this band is making every right move. Love it when you can tell your favorite bands consist of quality humans.
I didn't wanna double post so I replied after someone but me posted haha. Yeah, the Alternative Press Facebook page is awful and toxic. It's really sad that they're given a free pass. I've been on this site since Mene was released and this is probably the wrong thread to say but I'm so glad a community like this exists where we can discuss topics like this in an adult manner, really helps shape future bands to be more considerate of fellow human beings.
Oh absolutely, the article that talked about the Hotelier and the Obsessives on Pitchfork was amazing, loved it so much
That article is amazing to be honest, it's good that bands are becoming more comfortable addressing problems like this in the scene. Again, I wanna emphasis how drunk I am right now and apologize if I sound insane haha
Hey guys, unfortunately I won't be able to attend the Say Anything/Modern Baseball show in Austin tomorrow (May 28th). Since that was going to start the celebration of my birthday, May 29th, I've decided that in keeping the good spirits going for my birthday, I'll give one of y'all two tickets as a gift. Let me know if interested and I can email them to you.
I listened to it one time and thought I had enough, but I somehow ended up listening to it about five times in three days. It's a good album.
This is my biggest surprise of the year, have been listening to this way more than I'd ever expect to. Think that's partially because it just happens to speak to me so much with all the shit that's gone on lately, Note To Self is like the anthem of my life currently, I love it. Proving the "fuck this" companion album to PUP's "fuck you".
Does anyone know what the name of the bonus track on the vinyl is? I remember they gave it in an interview a while back but I'm too lazy to look for it.
I think that this might be my AOTY. This or Cardinal so far. I think Note to Self is my favorite so far. The intro guitar is just awesome! I always loved Modern Baseball but didn't think they would step it up this much
Is this the drummer singing on this Hard Girls cover? Doesn't sound like Brendan or Jake and sort of sounds like his part on Your Graduation?
My brother has a ticket to tomorrow's Cincinatti show that he can't use because he bought before the family vacation was planned.
Haven't been able to get into this album outside the two singles. Everyday is probably my favorite song they've ever done, but the rest just feels undercooked to me and hasn't hit me the same
