Reading an article on MMAFighting about Till vs. Cerrone and about how Till is from the same gym as Paul Kelly (who Cerrone fought in his UFC debut)..... Holy shit. I did not know Paul Kelly was currently serving a 13-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. I feel like I missed something big at some point. haha.
Just read that too. I love Cerrone as a fighter, but I have a gut feeling that Till is going to take this one and pretty convincingly at that.
I think I'm rooting for Cowboy (and I also don't want him to drop three straight), but Till is an animal. He's going to jump way up the ranks and in popularity if he gets this one done. I hate seeing Cowboy lose because his record is phenomenal. He's one of those people like Max or Tony where he has a better record than most champs but unlike them, he still doesn't have that belt on his resume. Then he ends up losing the big fights.
Just got to watching the fights. I give Cerrone an A offensively and C- defensively. The guy keeps his chin up in the air and he really tends to fold mentally when people get right in his face. Way too hittable for how good he is.
Just one of those fights for Cerrone that felt off from the very beginning. Till is nice, him and Perry could be fun if Perry wins.
I hope that means Conor v Ferguson is happening the same night. Barboza v Khabib will be fun. Rooting for a dope KO from Barboza.
Damn, hate seeing Machida lose, especially like that. I think he's probably taken too much damage at this point (although that was a damn sharp counter hook by Brunson that got that one done). I wouldn't mind seeing him retire at this point considering he just came off of a two year layoff to get KOed in the first round.
Morning Report: Justin Buchholz says he’s out as Team Alpha Male head coach Smoke, fire and all that.
That's strange...but yeah, there's definitely a trend going on with that camp. It's kind of like when a person goes through a ton of bad break ups and always claims it's the other person's fault. You start to wonder what the real deal is...
I guess this weekend's event isn't selling nearly as well as they expected. Between the PPV fatigue of Mayweather/McGregor, and the fact that GSP doesn't pull with the new casual fans after 4 years off, it's coming up short in the ticket sales department.
I agree. Garbrandt's win over Cruz was surprising. He's an excellent striker and I can't wait for this card. Would buy a ticket myself if they were slightly more affordable.
I love GSP, but have a gut feeling Bisping is going to take this. Garbrandt and Dillashaw is going to be a barn burner of the highest degree.
GSP's wrestling is so good, he can absolutely own Bisping on the ground if he can get it there. Even that jab, if he can land it, we all saw what he did to Koscheck's eye. At the same time, Bisping's been active and winning since GSP is gone and is the naturally bigger guy. I always loved the matchup, should be fascinating (or trash, I don't know haha).
Idk guys, we've seen Bisping get caught plenty of times. Currently the owner of one of the ugliest knockouts I've ever seen. But with that said, GSP is just one of my all time favorites and i'm trying hard to ignore that he's been gone for so long. I hope for a good match. Would also love to see Thompson have a win here after the snoozefight with Woodley.
Nah, I don't think so. GSP is one of my all time favorites, but I don't know. I don't favorite anyone coming off of a four year layoff and going up in weight. Bisping almost always looks the same in there, so I think he's a safer bet.
And Bisping smoked Rockhold who is a massive dude. He can put GSP down. I'm talking myself in circles trying to figure out who to pick.
