UFC in Perth, Australia this weekend for Fight Night. Bizarrely, prelims start on Sunday at 7am local time in Perth, lol; so bizarre. Gotta chase those US viewers I guess.
PFL putting the biggest fight they have on the new $30 a month ESPN app is the dumbest shit possible lol
I love Jiri man, the way he comes back from being outclassed through chaos and sheer willpower is so fun to watch.
He really is like a fictional character. The way he just DECIDES he’s not hurt and wills the finish into happening is something I don’t think I’ve seen before.
Random side note here, but there was a thread on reddit months ago talking about potential BMF fights if they would stop attempting to make it a lineal thing (allowing other weight classes to participate). Jiri vs. Khalil was my suggestion - then the fight was announced a few weeks later. Last night proved that that would have been worthy of a specialty fight, but the UFC is just going to keep giving it to the same 2 or 3 LWs whenever they don't have a title fight to put on a PPV.
Boy RDR looked terrible last night. He was completely gassed after a round and a half and almost didn’t get off the stool for round 4. He had to either been sick, injured or depleted from cutting too much weight.
After the fight, he said he had been battling Norovirus all week and broke his hand in the first round. That’s about the only think that makes that performance make sense lol
I feel bad for him then. Looked nothing like his previous performances. That’s one of those situations where I blame the UFC, to an extent. They punish people for pulling out of fights (especially main events) but because he didn’t, they’re going to basically say he’s shit now and will be hesitant to give him big opportunities.
Wow. Gane was fighting great and definitely getting the better of that entire round. My god that sucked. I haven't been that excited for a fight in a long time (sweaty palms and all before it started) and that happens. I feel awful for both guys.
