I think it would be hilarious if the UFC comes back and says, “Fine, you can defend your title against Tuivasa or something” and Jones accepts (because his issue is clearly Tom) and gets KOed anyway and we all finally move on.
I find it funny that Jon tried to price himself out of the fight asking for Conor money and when the ufc put it up he just goes nvm guys no thanks If we’ve ever needed a Dana “he just doesn’t wanna fight” rant - it’s right now
I’m assuming they do Tom vs Gane for the belt at some point. Just really sucks we’ve lost out on two consecutive giant HW title fights
Yeah they’ve killed the HW division with this shit. Feel bad for Tom. Just let him smoke everyone and get in with it.
The situation with Ngannou leaving the UFC was also kind of on him and not JUST the UFC, but at least his was for a good reason. And he even made the right decision financially, at the end of the day. This stuff with Jones, Aspinall, Miocic, etc. though... Just completely asinine. I just can't believe they are so desperate to hold onto Jones that they'll let him play all of these games and won't even consider just stripping him. Yet they'll almost FORCE Ngannou out of the entire organization.
UFC Noche moved to San Antonio and will be a fight night. Thank god those dumb rumors of Volk/Yair 2 are seemingly not true.
They just cancelled Blachfield/Barber at the last minute. Never seen that happen before. Typical Apex main event lol
Maybe the first MMA podcast/show I ever listened to. Back when Sherdog was the only good place to get fight news. Damn RIP
I think Patchy has a case of the yips. However, I think the talent of the lighter weight classes in the ufc is significantly wider than what Mix is used to.
Just like Costa v Kovylov shouldn’t be at 317. These cards are so phoned in since they’re not incentivised to make them better than they need to be.
Still don’t know why Sean got the rematch. He needs to regroup and go fight someone like Song or Figgy
Tom vs Jon is dead according to Ariel. Which isn’t shocking considering Dana hit Jon with the “if he doesn’t wanna fight, he doesn’t wanna fight” shit on Saturday night. Sounds like Tom’s opponent will be announced during international fight week.
Kape is out for 317 and Joshua Van is stepping in to fight Royval. Will be his 3rd PPV card in 3-1/2 months.
I started watching the card at the Chiesa/McGee fight... So far, a snoozer, a bizarre no contest from an illegal upkick, another snoozer, and now a snoozer (outside of the last 15 seconds) that ends with a clash of heads. Gooden was trying to give a play-by-play but had no real idea what was going and thought it was round 2 instead of 3. Combine that with a main event fighter getting locked out of the arena… Just embarrassing lol.
