Damn, I think Jiri might have been out on his feet coming out for round 2. I know Alex threw a lot of body kicks which set up that head kick, but Jiri didn’t even act like he saw it coming lol. I know I said I could watch those two fight an infinite number of times, but after how brutal that was, I change my mind. Jiri’s style of walking through shots just does not work with someone that lethal - and now Alex seems to have figured him out even more.
It’s crazy how far we’ve come from the ‘he only got the title shot because of his history with Izzy - he’d lose to most top 5 middleweights’.
Can’t believe the guy already has one of the best resumes in the company’s history lol. Two belts, five title fights, six wins over UFC champions, six KOs…all in nine fights. Obviously I realize the guy was extremely experienced, but joining the UFC at 33 years old and doing all of that is even crazier.
Jiri is apparently considering retirement now a KO like that will definitely change a fighter’s career
I’m more interested in Peirera/Aspinall than Jones. Jones can go away for all I care. Tired of all of these popular fighters who pick and choose their opponents. Connor and Jones are on equal level with me right now.
Jiri should consider implementing basic boxing defence, hes going to run into the same problems with Jamal Hill
It's always crazy when I'm legitimately surprised to hear that there's a UFC card on tonight lol. Tonight's card is getting roasted because there are no real big fights, but it low key has a lot of exciting people on it. Will not be shocked in the slightest if this card ends up being a sleeper with some great fights taking place. Doo-Ho Choi vs. Bill Algeo? Sign me up.
Strong top 3 even though Dana once again overhyped this event saying we would see nothing like it again. A lot of the rest of the rumored/announced card is pretty average which is mostly due to their not being a ton of Mexican’s at the top level of MMA right now.
So tonight is happening in the UK, but it’s still on at 10pm est? So it starts at 3am live in the UK?
Apparently so, which is insane; like, how TF do they expect these fighters to be at their full capacity for these fights at 4am? Do they even hope to have a full packed arena? I know they want to catch US eyeballs, but jeez
