Bellator has a fun card tomorrow, Nemkov/Romero Pettis/Pitbull (going for triple champ) Anderson/Davis
It was a decent card. Although it looks like Francis/Jones facing off in the crowd at the PFL show stole all the headlines
Man judging is garbage tonight. Two of the worst stoppage decisions I’ve seen in a long time in two of the first four prelims.
That fight with the slam/headbutt had one of the dumbest review decisions I’ve seen and the dude took tons of unnecessary damage regardless. Absolute wrong use of review. Between that and Keith Petersen fucking up big time it’s been a very interesting prelims lol
I don’t think anyone had Vettori/Cannonier pegged as a fight of the year candidate. I was totally expecting a dud, but damn this fight is great.
Damn that card is fire. Aljo/O’Malley Weili/Lemos Cejudo/Vera Font/Yadong Garry/Neal For how crappy 289 was, the next three PPV’s are pretty awesome.
Yeah that’s a raw deal. Usman/Chito and Sandhagen/Cejudo makes way more sense. I figure they think that Chito is a more popular and easier fight for Cejudo than Sandhagen.
was listening to Ariel’s pod sitting at work He mentioned PFL was in talks to buy Bellator late last year and dropped out. But they’ve recently got some new investors and that they’re making a huge push to combine the two companies to solidify a #2 company in the US. Verbiage from people have been weird on it. But sounds like PFL would essentially want to merge and bring in every top 10 fighter from each Bellator division to strengthen the roster.
That would be great. Hopefully PFL could get out of being on ESPN if that happens and keep the showtime deal that Bellator has. ESPN would promote them even less if they became a serious option for UFC fighters. I think PFL needs to rethink their structure though. The season structure just isn’t working. It didn’t work for Bellator back in the day and things always end up changing due to injuries, suspensions, etc.
