They are turning up the focus on right wing douche bags to an all time level tonight. I know that south Florida is a haven for that shit, but it’s fucking annoying. Same dumbfucks that cry to keep politics out of sports.
Tonight serving as a great reminder of why I don’t give near as much of a shit about this sport as I used to. Just so many absolute garbage people involved lol
What’s weird is that he was definitely one of the most underrated for so long. I loved watching him back in the Strikeforce days, and he was always near the top but never got much attention or praise. Same with the UFC run - some good wins, some close losses. Then he basically became a meme out of nowhere and had an undeserved permanent place in the title picture. And became some weird right-wing advocate. So strange how it all played out.
That was incredible. Both of these guys are machines. Izzy is absolutely unreal for coming back and getting over that mental hurdle. He never had any doubt that he could do what he just did. Also, I know I just talked shit on rematches, but I could watch these guys fight 100 times.
Yeah I’d be down with a 3rd fight. MW doesn’t have an obvious #1 contender and those two are savages. Do a 3rd fight with Chimaev/Whittaker as the co main for the #1 contender.
Great finish. Definitely feels like a third fight is coming. Bobby Knuckles isn’t getting another shot with Izzy as champ right now. Khamzat seems to be fighting Costa next. No obvious contender rn
You know that shit felt like an insane weight being lifted off his back while doing that celebration lol Realistically, I wonder what they’ll do next. Third fight seems logical right now, but Alex got KOed pretty damn badly just then… I wouldn’t doubt it if he’s not back until the end of the year.
For quite a few years now the stipulation has been that if you get your lights turned off, you’re out for 6 months I’m pretty sure. Bisping’s final two fights were the last straw for that iirc.
True - Usman had 7 months between the fights with Leon so I would expect something similar here if they do the trilogy. It feels like a while to wait for Izzy, but he really doesn’t have that many obvious options. Unfortunately I don’t see the UFC being too keen on slotting Whittaker in there now since Izzy won.
