Both of those guys have huge potential. Gamrot was just a little more diverse and was able to edge it out by being great in every department. Definitely somebody to watch moving forward. It’s also extremely interesting and fun to watch two guys known for grappling and generally being dominant in that department be pitted against each other with no significant advantage on either side. When wrestlers get stuck in there with other wrestlers, they’re forced to show how well they can stand as well while having also burned a lot of energy in the process. Arman looked dumbfounded that he couldn’t keep Gamrot down and was getting wrestled so much. If some of these strikers can learn to roll and scramble like we saw last night, we won’t see wrestlers continue to seek out their easiest fights in primarily strike-efficient opponents where they just lay on top ranked guys until a title fight.
Yeah, MW is super weak too. Reminds me a lot of when Anderson ruled the division. Unless someone moves up from 170, I think he rules the division for a few more years. I don’t see anyone in the top 15 that can beat him.
I kinda wish Khamzat would just go up so there’s someone else. I’m assuming Izzy will get Strickland/Periera winner next (Alex doesn’t deserve it at all but they’ll do it anyway) After that it’s nothing but rematches for him
Why do I feel like Strickland is going to ruin the obvious fast-tracking of Pereira by hugging on him for a boring decision? We'll be denied the Pereira/Izzy rematch, and we won't even have any obvious contenders because Strickland will create 0 excitement for a title shot.
My immediate thought was to disagree, but you aren't wrong. I like Cannonier's chances a lot actually, but if he can't get it done the rest of the division is bleak.
Strickland is unlistenable for me. Hope to see him get mopped. Cannonier’s best shot is to utilize grappling and ground and pound. Izzy is gonna be fast and kick the legs quite a bit, and I think that may cause some forced shots from Cannonier. MMA is always the most fun when it stays unpredictable tho. LFG Max!
If Cannonier can successfully attack Israels legs he has a chance of winning but after the Whitaker fight I think hes going to struggle a lot with Israel's movement and distance
I almost made a comment about how a bet against JRC is basically free money. Should have taken it lol. I don’t think she’s ever looked impressive, and her best win is against PVZ when she accidentally broke her own arm.
