Oh yeah, I have a feeling he'll get the life wrestled out of him for five rounds. Maybe he connects with something, but I don't anticipate an exciting fight.
Hope both guys are ready to go! Both have taken some damage recently but luckily Lawler has taken enough time off he should have recovered quite a bit now. Isn't it insane how Lawler and Condit both had an amazing 5-round fight, only for both of them to come back and lose in under 2 minutes? And neither have been back since. Crazy what those kinds of brawls will do to you.
Not sure how he did it, but he must have been able to go to the bathroom or something. Very strange. Also, Cormier is going to be pissed later when he realize that idiot dropped the towel before his pants were back up.
What the hell happened in this weigh in? Main eventers get in for the last 5 minutes, phantom weight drops. AJ weighing 203 though is awesome.
I love DC, but I think Rumble is going to wreck him this time. DC is getting up there in age, so you never know when that chin is going to lose its ability to take shots like he did in the first fight.
Also, didn't realize that now people are calling BS on the weigh-ins altogether. Apparently they think DC cheated because he dropped 1.2 pounds in a couple of minutes. The prevailing theories are: - He pressed down on the towel to alleviate the pressure (somehow losing the exact weight he needed to make it). - They adjusted the scale because Rumble came in at exactly 1.2 pounds underweight (the exact amount DC lost in that bit of time) First one seems like bullshit. Second one seems...fishy. But probably a coincidence. Do these people not consider that DC has been doing this all his life and has never missed weight before? He might know what he's doing.
Honestly who gives a shit. I hate the fact there are weight classes in the first place. They should fight at their natural weights, or whatever weight makes them in the best shape. Gather up the guys who are closest in weight and let them fight.
I mean, it's anything they can do to hate on DC. That's the only reason anyone gives a shit. And yeah, if there are no weight classes, none of this cutting-weight bullshit even needs to take place. So tired of fights getting canceled and fighters coming in in a diminished form because they didn't properly dehydrate themselves to a near-death state. Seems ridiculous.
Not to mention the fact that IV's have been banned, even after a bad weight cut. They're so concerned on doping with the use of an IV, but why not just monitor the process in a very strict manner and get on with it?
To be fair, it's a serious health hazard if one of them pops during the fight. I wonder why Meisha was allowed?
thats another thing...this should have been an issue that was taken care of when she was originally licensed for the fight.
