I hope Mousasi does some work tonight, but I could also see Vanderford giving him some trouble with the wrestling.
Why again isn’t Gegard in the UFC? Feel like he could have been doing some serious work there over the last few years
Why do I feel like certain fighters, such as RDA, are just prone to having bouts canceled due to injury? Not just RDA himself being injured, but he's also had tons of opponents get forced out as well. Regardless, I'm bummed to see this fight get scrapped. I love both of those guys.
Damn man. That is so terrible to see. You can't help but to run wild with speculation. This one just seems especially troubling because Cain was so low-key and didn't seem to be the type that would ever be involved in something like this, regardless of the reason.
Lot of bad speculation out there. And it’s hard to look away from it. There had been rumors for a few years that he was involved with some not great guys. On top of that, you’ll have people speculating CTE etc.
Yep, those two reasons have been repeatedly thrown out there. Again, either or neither could be true, but it's still a terrible (and surprising) situation regardless. If it's true that he's involved with some shady characters, I wouldn't doubt it if we don't hear much more about this.
what's insane is someone posted this in the Reddit thread this morning and said this was the story (their kid was at the same daycare, or they know someone whose kid is or something, and was interviewed by the police) and (reasonably) nobody believed them and just ignored it
Man, that story is just sad all the way around. I still feel terrible for Cain even though you clearly can’t just go vigilante because you’re in a blind rage. I guess I feel terrible that he was even pushed to the brink of making a huge mistake like that.
I think I’ve said this here before but Mousasi is one of the biggest losses the UFC gave up prematurely, if not the. 1 majority decision loss in six years currently at 36 years old, and iirc he TKO’d Thiago Santos, Uriah Hall, and Chris Weidman back to back within a year time span to end his UFC run. Then they were just like bye! No we’re not paying you more, you don’t talk enough! This man is the definition of an MMA artist. Champion across multiple promotions, wins in every weight class from Welterweight - Heavyweight. Formidable standing as well as on the ground. Amateur boxing champ, Kickboxing champ at Heavyweight, I could go on forever baby! Crazy he is not in the UFC and I would imagine he’s one of Bellator’s highest paid fighters now.
You want to know something that still makes me sick? Mousasi is one of my favorite fighters of all time, and the only time I've ever seen him fight live was his loss to King Mo back in Strikeforce over a decade ago... which was one of the most boring fights of all time. Gegard even falsely got a point taken away for kicking King Mo in the chest while on the ground. Side note - that whole card was sad as hell to be at in person. Three 5-round snoozers in a row. Shinya Aoki butt scooted towards Gilbert Melendez the whole fight, King Mo laid and prayed Mousasi, then Jake Shields blanketed Hendo for 4 rounds after almost getting KOed three times in the first. The only excitement all night was the post-fight brawl between the Diaz brothers and Mayhem Miller.
