I feel like Chiesa needs to work on his hands a lot more. He’s so good but whenever his ground game gets stalled or if he starts to lose in that area, he doesn’t have much of a plan b. He was even doing alright in this last round attacking Brady on the feet, but he doesn’t really have any finishing power.
These eye pokes on this card are killing me. The same critique I had for Chiesa also applies to Miesha. Her striking is mostly non-threatening so when her wrestling fails, there’s not much of a backup plan.
Looks like Diego is going through it pretty badly with COVID, including pneumonia and blood clots. It sounds god awful.
This sounds terrible and I don’t mean this to come off the wrong way, but I’m at least glad he’s in the hospital and taking all of this as seriously as possible (and letting professionals handle it)… I know for starters he wasn’t vaccinated, but on top of that, he strikes me as the type to think he can beat something like this with all kinds of home/natural remedies. Just hoping now that he is able to shake it and make a full recovery down the line.
Khabib chiming in saying that the winner should get the next shot. The fact that this fight is even happening is saying that Justin is next and THEN the winner of this.
On Thursday, Spencer (9-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) revealed the news in an interview with Fight Bananas in which she cited her mental health as the main reason for stepping away from the sport. “I have decided to stop pursuing this opportunity and have no intention to continue fighting,” Spencer said. “I felt as good as I’ve ever been in my last fight and know I could have more great performances. But after 18 fights, including a few wars, I know in my heart for my future mental health that I shouldn’t be in more of those wars. In the fight game, that isn’t guaranteed, and I’ve shown myself that I won’t give up in the cage, so I need to protect myself by just not stepping in there. I’m thinking about myself and family 25 years from now. Mental health is an important consideration in my family.” damn, i really hope others decide the same in the future
The second time a Pettis brother was getting their ass kicked by a karate fighter and pulled a finish out of their ass. Crazy KO
If Francis wins, Dana will need to offer him a very big contract to keep him to stay, as the boxing world will give him vastly more $$$$
this is gonna be such an interesting fight and tho I lean pretty heavily towards Francis, it's very much a toss up
I was really hoping that Darian Weeks would pull out the win in his debut. He is another guy who trains here in town pretty often. His coach who was in cage with him is the one who runs all of our local amateur and pro/am events, so I’ve judged a few of Darian’s amateur fights back in the day.
