There just like most other live sporting events. You see more and have better actually viewing options at home but the atmosphere live is awesome. Last night was odd because you could tell everyone was disappointed about Khabib. 194 and 207 were both ridiculous atmospheres. "Big fight feel" is a real thing as cheesy as it sounds. Last night fun but not nearly on the same level.
Yep, I am stoked for that fight. I've actually seen Jacare fight live before in Strikeforce, but I'm happy to watch him again. I'm actually kind of rooting for Whittaker in that fight though. I kind of like this card because I don't really have any favorites. I'm just looking to be entertained without being disappointed! haha. For the main event, it will be cool because I'll either get to see Mighty Mouse make history with his title defense record or I'll get to see a massive upset from Weis. It's a win-win, really.
I want to see both Weidman and Rockhold come back from their losses and then maybe round 2 with them depending on how they look.
Being there live was awesome. We had amazing seats, first non-floor seats row, and it was incredible being that close. The main event was obviously a disappointment. My friends are not really big UFC guys and so they were completely flummoxed by that fight. I wish I could have left them with a better impression of the sport. But I had a blast because there were some good fights. Although I lost all my bets haha. Ugh.
She was gonna miss weight today so they made a catch weight of 120, but she missed that too on her first attempt hahaha.
But what is she trying to do? I'd think it would make more sense to speak in fluent English with no accent.
She's cuts from like 153 or something like that. She really should fight at 125 though considering she's missed weight 2/3 times
lol that is weird. I don't think i've ever heard her talk before. The strange thing about that video is that it doesn't even sound so much like a change of "accent", but it's almost like she forgot English altogether to sound more Brazilian.... She stutters like she's trying to think of how to pronounce words in English but can't remember.
My brother and I picked up our tickets today for UFC KC. Can't believe we've been watching since the "Dark Ages" of the company and have never been to an event until now. haha. It was pretty reasonably priced. We payed around $100 each and are basically as low as you can get without being on the floor. We're right next to the fighter entrance too.
Oh man so much for TRTitor haha. Edson/Khabib is probably the fight to make while Ferg fights for the title
Double KO with one winner at Shamrock FC 285 Anyone seen this "double KO" yet? Controversial call maybe, but I'm not sure he was totally wrong. This ref is Mike England, the guy I spoke about earlier in this thread who I know personally and actually took an MMA officiating seminar from a few weeks ago. The guy has been reffing fights for over 20 years, so he objectively knows his stuff. This situation is tough, but I have to agree with his call. Both guys were moving but to different degrees. The "winner" of the fight was not actually knocked out; he was just hurt. As injured as he was from his mangled nose, he was still able to attack (and defend). The losing fighter on the other hand, was never able to mount any offense or defense. "Intelligently defending yourself" only matters when an attack is taking place. Mike gave both fighters an opportunity to recover (and therefore "attack") before calling it. Had both fighters been in the same shape, it would have had to be called a no contest, but since one guy was still functional and did not give up, he had to be called a winner. Only real precedents we have to go off of are Hughes vs. Newton which Hughes won because he was able to continue more quickly than Carlos and Maynard vs. Emerson which was called a no contest only because Emerson decided to tap out as Gray went out.
