I'm watching Karate Combat's Instagram live right now. Adam from Karate Combat is from Hungary, then he's got GSP, Lyoto and Bas on since they are the league ambassadors... It's an awesome group, but it's funny listening to all four of their English accents trying to communicate. haha. Also, three of them are in t-shirts and GSP is in a full Men In Black style suit. I love it.
I like the guy, but that BINK thing is such a forced catch phrase... He's been using it for years and I just don't think it's ever caught on with anyone else lol
Looks like Condit has retired. I’m going to miss watching him compete for sure (he’s probably in my top 2-3 favorite fighters of all time). He probably could have retired after the Lawler fight tbh, but I’m glad he ended on a few good fights.
Condit and Benavidez both retired this week. Two legends I loved watching. Happy to see them know when it’s time. GSP wearing a suit is not surprising at all lol but he always looks so giddy.
lol my guess was that it was going to turn out to be Bjorn (like with the fighter's union that failed), but this doesn't seem much better.
What’s everyone’s view on this card? I feel like I don’t know anyone on the main card and then Pennington is on prelims which makes me think I should know more people on the main card?
That’s why the tourneys are always a little goofy. They’re so exciting when they get announced and then less than half of the fights pan out. By the time there’s a winner, you’ve forgotten there was even a tournament.
when he retires, it will be one of the biggest cases of wondering what might have been, at least for me one of the most vexing fighters
Phil Davis is really good, hope people don't forget that. That said, Yoel looked old. How an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling never wrestles is beyond me. Neiman looked great. Palozzi and Neal was a good scrap too. Mauro was dreadful on the call. I'm a broken record on this, but they need to change everything about their presentation. It's so amateur feeling. Constantly cutting to the desk, or Gareth in London, it's all very exhausting. UFC can hold an event in an empty warehouse and make it look clean, but Bellator feels low rent in an arena.
