Yeah he’s in a perfect spot where Mcgregor will do anything to get that W back from him. Let him reel out for a while you go try to grab the gold again.
I’m honestly surprised that that last fight was the first time we’ve ever seen one of those oblique kicks end a fight in the UFC. Yikes. Also, think I’m taking Brunson today. The wrestling/striking combo sort of fighter can give Till problems. I also just think Brunson is just on a roll right now.
Hype is all gone on that front. He’ll need to either dominate his next fight or drop back down to Welterweight if he even can.
Whole card delivered. Brunson with a great win, Aspinall steamrolled, Roundtree obliterating someone's leg. Brunson/Cannonier is very interesting, if they go that route. Guess you could do Till/Gastelum for the "Potential" championship.
Great card! Was on at 6am for me so had to settle for the replay and avoid spoilers haha The next fight night looks fucking horrible
Brunson being on a 5 fight win streak definitely puts him in a potential contender spot. I would imagine Cannonier is next for him, and makes the most sense right now. Costa v Vettori is gonna have whatever winner of that claiming the next shot so I could see Brunson having to take both the Cannonier fight and the winner of that one to get the shot nod.
Yeah I think you do Cannonier v Brunson for the next shot. Loser of that fights the winner of Costa v Vettori.
If I were Brunson, I would just wait instead of potentially having Cannonier leapfrog him after a five fight win streak. Although then you run the risk of them doing a rubber match between Rob and Izzy if Rob wins or there is a controversy. So who knows.
That would be awful. Luckily I have foreseen all MMA future and Rob will shock the world. He’ll be the first man in some time to regain his title. In all seriousness though, crazy to think that while it used to happen much more often say 10 years ago, rarely do champions regain their titles nowadays. If I’m not mistaken, the last two to do so were Stipe and then before that, Jones. In women’s, correct me if I’m wrong but Tate and Namajunas may have been the only ones ever?
I don't fault him, it's not against the rules and setup was gorgeous. That said, I wouldn't mind if commissions removed it.
so I'm just now seeing this video of Stephan Bonnar getting kicked out of a hospital and it's just so fucking sad. hope he gets help
