Welp. Holly Holm officially appeals UFC 208 loss due to punches landed after horn Don't blame her at all. Many scored it for her, and those shots after the bell were the hardest landed from GDR.
Yeah I know kinda don't blame Holly either for appeal. I don't know if I really want to see GSP fight again after this long off. I know he'd be in fanstastic shape but hope the skill level of others hasn't caught up so high that we see another BJ Penn like last month
Yeah he's totally a wild card. He could look like he never left, he could look totally lost like BJ, or he could just look like a lesser version of himself like Anderson.
See I can cop an appeal on a foul that should've been a point decuction. But if we're gonna appeal every judges decisions that'll just ruin the sport and open a can of worms. I really hope he doesn't even though I think he won (not by much. Not a crazy robbery. But a robbery)
Yeah huge difference haha it was just an uneventful fight. Sure, he probably should have won, but he hardly did anything memorable. There's gotta be something obvious for the appeal to be valid. Fedor vs Maldonado had a lot of sketchy factors attached to it, so that's a good example of a fight that needs to be overturned...not someone crying because they didn't do enough.
Wait? So we don't have a guaranteed fight between them signed off already after their TUF season?! Spewin!!
Wow I thought the Black Beast killed Browne there for a second. Terrible stoppage, but from his post-fight interview, can't imagine Lewis feels bad about it. haha.
Post-fight interview from Lewis the stuff of legends - might go down as best post-fight interview ever
What did he say. He hurts from sex or something? His FS1 post show interview was pretty good too. Says he wants Hunt after his break
I haven't listen since the first 6months (just got busy and forgot about it) has it gone weird or you always had a love/hate with it?
I'm just being overly dramatic, it's actually a pretty good podcast if you like Chael and his shtick. When he gets political (which isn't all that often) I skip over it. Anything MMA related he's very good at, and you can really hear the passion he has for amateur wrestling. This isn't a complaint, just an observation, but you can almost see it as an audition for his other interests if that makes sense. He can slip into cutting a wrestling promo (his Tito talk for example) or talk reality TV or politics. It's pretty slick really. Long story short, I don't want to see a rematch with Tito haha.
Taking a six-hour MMA officiating class tomorrow. The class is lead by Mike England who is a professional ref for basically every organization outside of the UFC. Should be pretty cool.
That course was pretty great. It really gives you new ways of looking at the scoring criteria. Also, I didn't realize this but the guy leading the class will be reffing the upcoming UFC event in Kansas City so that's cool.
I've been judging amateur fights for probably five or six years now. This class was because the state commission is trying to move more people up and get us to start shadowing pro events. Eventually I'll probably apply for my pro license but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll get to do anything other than local/regional cards.
