I had this same thought whenever this weekend's event was coming up. I realized I don't even know what cards are coming up after Poirier/McGregor II. It's only July and I feel like we've already burned through the exciting matchups for this year, and other matchups have either fizzled out (Ngannou's first defense), taken too long to materialize (Jones at heavyweight, Glover not getting a title shot and backing up Jiri/Rakic, Khamzat being out for months after fighting three times really quickly) or been left in a strange place with no hype (Sterling as champion by DQ, Whittaker not getting a title shot for months and months, Leon dominating Nate and then getting rocked in the last minute and losing his title shot lol).
that's what I've been saying for a while now. and at this point I can't think of a single upcoming fight that really intrigues me and I can't even remember the last time that happened. hopefully some exciting fights will be announced soon tho
Yeah the fights I’m excited about I don’t even think have been booked yet so I’m not really excited about much coming up. But there are some great potential title matchups in Yan/Sterling 2, Porier/Oliveira, Whittaker/Adesanya 2, and most of all I need to see a shevchenko/Nunes 3 I don’t care what anyone says.
I am really looking forward to seeing how Miesha Tate looks in her return and Dilladhaw/Sandhagen though
Yeah, CM was great for what he was but he's not the all-time guy people think he is. He was a good (marketing) personality in a good fighter's body. That's it. Now his body is breaking on him and he's still a good (marketing) personality but he's barely worth watching at this point.
Do you mean One? That’s still going she’s just stepped down as an executive or whatever her role was there.
Miesha looks absolutely ripped for this fight. I know this sounds terrible, but whenever she was first posting training videos when she started this camp, I couldn't help but to think "she has a long way to go...." She looked like someone coming out of retirement. Needless to say, she's obviously been taking it seriously because she is in incredible shape.
McNuggets posting a picture of Dustins kid is fucking weird and that dude needs fired into the sun. I hope he heals and comes back one more time to get fucking mauled. Lots of good fights coming up though. Oddly looking forward to Lewis and Gane despite thinking Gane is going to tool him. Gane is the most refreshing HW in a long time from a technical standpoint.
I said this when he fought Rozenstruik but I think he matches up decently with Ngannou. He's not the most exciting, but he's super elusive which is key. I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to avoid getting hit by Ngannou and cruise to a decision win.
I know it’s been said before but I feel like watching Gane fight at HW is like a sneak peak at watching Jones at HW.
No excusing the threats and he is a shitty guy, though the two quoted tweets Conor deleted were things Dustin said on embedded. Just posting for context and not defense. He clearly understood how it looked and came off and was probably told by his pr to delete them. Idiot.
Also I admittedly had completely forgot about Tate’s return and I am excited for that. I could not care less to see Dillashaw come back and as far as I’m concerned his title reign is illegitimate. Makes complete sense that he was able to build such muscle mass and recover like he did in multiple fights. Nobody that built is able to do so especially with the wild from-outside strikes he throws. I hope Sandhagen gives him the Edgar treatment.
I find it very hard to believe someone like TJ has learned his lesson and not use his time off to find new/better ways to cheat.
"I had fractures in my leg so naturally I went into this fight with the strategy of throwing wild kicks over and over" Kinda wish this dude would just pull a Rousey and go into hiding.
While that would be wonderful, it won’t ever happen. The child is obsessed with hearing himself talk I also don’t buy the pre-fight stress fractures for a second. Typical excuses from that loser
Yeah that’s some straight up BS to try to sell a fourth fight. Dude was throwing hard when kicks right out of the gate. Can’t wait until he comes back and gets his ass kicked. I assume after that he will move on to the Diaz/Masvidal type of money fights.
