When I worked in banking I was always shocked at how often people’s hacked or stolen cards were used for airline tickets. More common than one would think.

I’ll never forget the full blown meltdown a lady had the first time I as a head teller had to tell someone. She was trying to do a withdrawal from drive through and I was trying to tell her to just come inside so I could talk to her (tell her the news privately) and she started getting frustrated and mean. I finally got fed up and said “ma’am did you buy $1800 worth the airline tickets through FlyDubai and AirArabia? No? Then I suggest you come in so we can fill out a fraud report.” Full. Blown. Meltdown.

This shit just keeps getting worse as more information comes out (I'm also mad that I'm still even invested in this situation). Diego said in an interview within the last week that he's had to disown family members because they told him to stay away from Fabia....to anyone with half a brain, that is the biggest red flag that you are joining a cult.

This dude is running his life into the ground (faster than it was on track to, at least), and Diego is going to end up getting sued, going broke, hurting himself... or worse. It's either going to end very, very tragically or Diego is going to have one of those revelations in a few years where he acts like he's a genius for figuring out that he's been taken advantage of.

 

I’m honestly worried Fabia might try to seriously hurt Diego. Which isn’t uncommon with this type of behavior.

This has some Lifetime movie shit written all over it.

 

Why would you think he would hurt him? His training methods look ultra safe.

I'm still so shocked that he never got punished whatsoever for that stunt at the weigh-ins. Dana basically just said it was Sean Shelby's fault for not intervening.... What the fuck?

Although now that I've typed that out, does anyone remember like 10 years ago whenever he got arrested on assault charges hours before he was supposed to fight and Dana tried bailing him out to keep the fight intact? After I remembered that, I became less surprised.

I don't understand the love for this guy. He's an idiot with a terrible record and his most notable moment in his career is getting punked by Conor at the press conference.

 

I think he’s only kept around because he’s not exactly expensive to the UFC. He gets about 60k/60k and he hasn’t been winning any fights so it’s just 60k for a usual fun fight where he gets out classed by his opponent.

 

Yup. Same with Cerrone’s last few years. They know they were developed/draw the best in the UFC and don’t mind their paychecks as is, so they will continue as long as the UFC lets them. And they, being the UFC, will continue to give fights to guys who aren’t afraid to go out on their shield despite retirement looking like the best option.
