Rakic/Jiri would be good but you’d have to give a contender a loss and LHW needs them right now. Have them go different ways and build them both up. I have a hard time imagining one of those guys would be okay with sitting until early 2022 for a title shot
The thing is there’s no one to build them up against. Rakic has beat Smith/Santos and I don’t think you want to risk putting Jiri against either of those. There’s not a lot of options at LHW.
This is starting to become the problem I was anticipating when they gave Izzy the title shot. You already had Glover set as the number one contender and then had a handful of exciting guys coming up behind him. It was unnecessary letting someone cut the line at that point whenever you FINALLY got some excitement and movement in the division. The contenders were going to start knocking each other off until you run out of viable options. I was pretty irritated at Joe Rogan for essentially gatekeeping the title shot during Rakic's post fight interview a couple of months ago, but in hindsight, he's probably right, unfortunately. Rakic played it safe in his win against Santos and didn't exactly get people hyped to see him fight for the belt despite being the #2 guy. Jiri comes out in the meantime and puts on a show and everyone goes nuts wanting to see him in there.
Does Jiri really wait until early next year though? Jan/Glover isn’t until September!! that’s a long ass time
this is the funniest shit I've ever seen. The desperation is strong. Triller offers 1 month of amnesty for anyone who illegally streamed Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren event
Wow, also, Diego is calling the UFC evil and is trying to say he’s fearful for his life now. Even listed a few possible death scenarios. Insane shit. This company should be providing healthcare in more ways than just physical post-fight.
I'm in the process of listening to Diego's interview with Sirius XM.... It's terrible. He makes all of these big claims and then when they push him to explain or give evidence, he just goes off on some unrelated tangent and thinks he has proven his point. It's the exact same as every other deranged/delusional person you've heard. Some examples to save you some time.... Says he left his wife because she urged him to retire, and he thought that meant she didn't believe in him. He met Fabia shortly after and said the guy submitted him in less than a minute when they rolled.... I don't even know what to make of that tbh He credits his win over Mickey Gall to Fabia's "vision and movement" training....despite the fact that he only "trained" with Fabia for TEN DAYS leading up to the Mickey Gall fight. I believe this is probably what falsely convinced him that this dude wasn't full of shit. He sort of talks down to Anthony Smith's 8 years of experience in the UFC, saying that he still doesn't know how the company operates and that it took himself about 14+ years to learn the true ways of the UFC.... His big revelation? "It's all about money" No shit. He also goes on some tangent about how the UFC has tricked all of the fighters into chasing the belt and that a ton of fighters believe they are destined by God to become the champion.... I don't know how any of that is the UFC's fault, but what do I know. Says that the UFC is "pushing a narrative" about him and Fabia all the time (but doesn't say what that is) and claims none of us realize it. Says that DC doesn't know what he's talking about in regards to Fabia's methods or corner advice (lol) and claims that DC is learning too much from Joe Rogan who is trying to be a comedian during the commentary. He claims that Ariel Helwani is the one who started the rumor that he and Fabia are in a relationship because Ariel allegedly Tweeted a photo of the two of them with the Brazzers logo stamped on it. I don't know what the fuck he's talking about, but that got a huge laugh out of me. Then I gave up when he got to the potential death threats from the UFC. I couldn't handle it anymore. The dude is absolutely convinced that he's dropping a bombshell every time he says something. He even thinks the video they "leaked" with Fabia attacking the analyst panel vindicated him in some way and that they have more video evidence of things like that "for insurance". It's just sad.
