was gonna say I hope Cowboy picks up a win in his next fight, no matter who he fights then I realized it doesn't really matter
"Listen, this, uh, Jake Paul kid.... He's, uh, he's something." - Dana White promoting Jake Paul's debut later this year
Tito Ortiz said in an interview with Schaub “I wanna outlive my kids, of course. 100%. And I just look at it as I take care of myself.” I am just dumbfounded at how weird and off putting this statement is, and not even remotely by the who.
Looks like Yoel is out of the tournament (or at least the fight with Rumble). I knew this tournament wouldn’t go smoothly somehow. I’m guessing they’re still going to send in that Anglickas dude as an alternate.
I'm pretty sure they've kept Diego around the last 5+ years strictly out of respect for his early career. That video they released where his "coach" was laying into Felder, Olivi and Anik made me so angry, so I'm not surprised that that contributed to his release. The guy just screams "desperation" and wants respect so badly that he's willing to put the commentary team on the spot and say, "Hey guys. The internet is talking shit about me. You guys need to fix it." (Pretty sure he wouldn't have been so confident had he been in front of Rogan, DC, Bisping, etc.) Like, just get your fighter to perform well and people will stop mocking you. It's that simple. He also thinks that, despite having hardly any success as a coach, he should get respect strictly because Diego sees something in him. Does he also know Diego has been lead on by a bunch of "gurus" in the past and has even lost all of his money in Ponzi schemes at one point? The dude has a history of being taken advantage of.
I fear for him not being in the UFC unfortunately. Because he’s going to get even more brain damage because someone like Bareknuckle is going to pay him a lot of money.
And what's worse is he's surrounded by people like this fuckin clown who are going to tell him "No dude, you're still the best, you have the spirit of a 20 year old!" until he's 60. I don't think the guy realizes that if he and Diego were just getting results, no one would be making fun of him.
I'd like to see Chiesa get in there with Usman eventually and I even think he's on his way, but I don't know how you don't look at Colby, Leon or Wonderboy first. Part of me wonders if now that Masvidal is officially out of the way with no excuses, Kamaru is looking to get more diversity on his record for his legacy. GSP had title defenses against nine different people in a row. If Usman fights Colby next, that will only be three different people in five title defenses. Edwards would at least be a different name to add to his championship run, but even that is a guy whose name is already on his resume.
I don’t care for the idea of Colby getting another shot after one win over a washed Woodley, especially after he got stopped the first time. No thank you.
I agree on the diversity. These top guys only get to go through these reigns once. As much as I'd think Colby 2 would be a close match up I think the Wonderboy flavor adds such a more interesting matchup. Especially if Usman starts mowing down guys over the next couple years it would say so much more about his abilities if he was able to fight different styles.
On what basis though? Cause he was able to to that to Masvidal and a few others? Wonderboy has insanely good takedown defense and counter striking. I think it’d be crazy to write him off so easily.
