Boxing is just accepting it with open arms. Some of them are even saying it’s great for the sport. I unfortunately don’t think it’s going away. It’s irritating because it has nothing to do with MMA. Outside of Askren going and getting embarrassed, this shouldn’t overlap at all. If he wants to get in the cage, sure. But it’ll never happen because history taught them how celebrities do or how crossovers work out lmaooo
I don’t blame the MMA guys for doing it considering the payday. I mean, it was pretty clear that Askren didn’t take that fight seriously. And he had his highest payday of his career.
Yeah there’s that too. I just don’t want to keep seeing aged or over the hill guys go and embarrass themselves. Woodley will be the next I’m sure. If Paul has the balls for it. Woodley knows how to throw a punch and has power at least.
Do Nick and Lawler or some shit. Give him fights like that please. I’d rather see him fight Lawler, Condit or even Masvidal. He’s not a contender. Give him fun legacy type fights
Right? Dude hasn't won since the first Obama administration, at least give him something of a tune up.
Lawlor hasn’t fought since that terrible Chuck/Tito 3 card Golden Boy put on, so I have no idea what his plans are as far as competing goes. Definitely not his primary focus, and it shouldn’t be.
Even if Nick and Nate were active, putting them against dominant wrestlers is that last thing people want to watch lol. In all likelihood, Nick gets absolutely mauled by someone like Chimaev in a somewhat boring fight....then Nick claims everyone sucks and that he didn't really lose and then he pisses off for a few more years.
