I think DC had it right. Usman’s right hand just gets there way quicker than people expect. Jorge even saw it coming and was ready to counter with a left hook, but it got to him waaay too quick.
Usman’s striking is such a curious case. He definitely has power, and at times he looks razor sharp and like his precision is unmatched, and then seconds later he’s throwing wild haymakers that look like strikes someone who has never fought professionally would throw.
He definitely got a little wild there for a moment but reeled it back in. Some of those against the wrong counter striker would be a problem for him. But definitely no denying he’s the most well rounded, dominant champ currently next to Nunes and Shevchenko.
Holy FUCK I just saw Weidman’s leg snap for the first time. Crazy that we saw Weidman repeat the same injury Silva suffered against him, and to see Masvidal hit the canvas like he made Till/Askren is just crazy. What a card. Can’t wait to watch the prelim card tonight.
I still can’t believe Rose won like that (so quickly at that). I really just noticed that Weili clearly thought a low kick or calf kick was coming. She jumped back and got her feet squared to dodge a low kick and never even considered that it would be a high switch kick. That was beautiful.
Rose lead with the hand and followed it up with that front leg. Actually a technique Wonderboy is really good at. When you catch somebody like that with their feet together there is no movement you can make quick enough to mitigate the impact. Weili was rocked for sure. Could she have continued? Maybe. But I don’t think it was a bad stoppage. Hope to see her come back even stronger.
Just learned that the person Masvidal wore a shirt for last night was convicted of murder and torture lol. So Masvidal can fuck off for a long time.
Yeah, she feinted that lead hand but Weili still thought that a low inside calf kick was coming next at the end of the combo which is what really put her in a terrible position. She was trying to parry the punch but tried sliding her left foot back to dodge the kick and never even saw that high kick coming. Like you said, she made her feet squared up. It was just too perfect.
When Jake Paul looks like the good guy....you’re really fucking up. The UFC has grown so much over the last couple decades, but the last 5-6 years specifically has been the biggest growth. Why do you think ESPN wanted in? There really is no excuse that these fighters don’t get paid more.
Endeavor is trying to be cheap because they already made their money with the ESPN deal. Most PPV profit goes to ESPN so they could give a shit less about paying more for increased PPV buys. It’s terribly bad business. That being said fighter pay has been shit forever and I’m glad the criticism is ramping up again.
Nothing the Paul brothers say is of their own wit and volition. Stolen talking points just to keep attention. Can’t wait to be past this cause I’m tired of watching UFC fighters be asked about Paul. Even Dana included.
