I just realized I was missing the p in his last name but yeah, he’s somebody I liked a lot when I first got into MMA and he did okay. Always fought tough guys and it could go either way any time. Diaz is one of his biggest wins.

Also might be the only MMA fighter I can think of that left the UFC but came back in their career. He performed much better in Strikeforce.

Honestly, I’ve seen far more people spell it with the p than without over the years, so you’re good haha

I like them slightly more than Reebok’s but still miss the days of custom shorts.

Anyone remember this? Machida was such a force for some time. Always wished him and Shogun ran it back for a third time.

  11. Machida era was fun.

Still think Jones dropping him with that choke is one of the most ridiculous submissions ever.

Seeing him drop like he did was jaw dropping. Genuinely scary, and I feel like that was truly the end of Machida’s hype.

Shit. While I don’t think Aljo is milking it, this is not gonna help his credibility with casuals. Honestly should probably just relinquish if he’s gonna be out for a year.

  16. campeondeluniverso

    nah.

i think it was on UFC Unfiltered podcast where he had mentioned needing surgery. i agree with him relinquishing it if he's gonna be out almost a year.

You must fix your heart Supporter

Especially since he didn't even win it in a satisfying way and the division has a lot going for it right now.

I assume if he’s out that long they will do the winner of Sandhagen/Dillashaw vs Yan for the interim belt at some point. It sucks that he has to be out for so long after the Yan fight ended so horribly.

Yeeeah it sucks, but I think you make him vacate given the circumstances if he’s really going to be out nearly a year. Too many exciting contenders waiting right there.

Anyone think Holland pulls off the big upset this week? I kinda wanna bet but I’m not sure.

I could see it, for sure. Not saying it will happen, but if this is most likely going to be a standup fight, Holland will be in it to win it the whole time.

Okay so, this is really rich. The reason being is since Yan/Sterling happened DJ has done multiple interviews bagging on Aljo, stating the rule shouldn’t exist and that you should be allowed to knee a downed opponent to the head. That’s literally the strike that just put him out tonight. Irony much?
