So, apparently Cody Garbrandt and his 2 year old son were asked to get off a plane because his son wouldn’t keep his mask on. Cody went kinda Karen and started filming on his phone following flight attendants to a bathroom they were hiding in and then going into the cockpit to film the pilots not wearing masks. It’s all on his IG right now lol.

It would make sense if the UFC was the first sport to have full arenas. So many stupid fighters, MMA bro fans and management that gives no fucks about Covid.

 

Let’s not let the politicians in the state of TX off the hook. Lifting the mask mandate with a variant virus found there is beyond stupid. It’s dangerous and ignorant. And despite all this the UFC just sees dollar signs.

If a resurgence in cases/Covid were to come from a UFC event taking place before it should I would legitimately write the league off no matter how much that would suck for me.

 

With that said, I just watched the face-offs and I was honestly surprised that Jan is basically the same height as Izzy with a lot more muscle. I think he might, at the very least, put up as solid of a fight as Gastelum.


Also Izzy sniff sniff growled at him which is only the most recent of extremely cringe things this man does.

 

I don’t think I would be super surprised to see Jan win honestly.

Not saying Anderson is going to win, but she's got size. I think it'll be closer than people think.

Yan just seems like he has another gear he hasn't hit yet. Don't particularly care who wins, Aljo would be a fine champion too, but I'm leaning Yan.

I think Izzy could pick Jan apart and make it look easy unless Jan is able to bully him around with that size. This one really depends on who is able to get their game going.

I thing Megan could potentially give Amanda some trouble on the feet so I think Amanda out-grapples her. We’ve seen Megan get out-grappled by a few people, so I think Nunes has a pretty easy path to victory there a la the fight with GDR.

Yan vs. Aljo seems pretty even on paper. Pulling for Aljo but it’s hard to get against the champ.

 

Fun facts I got from Reddit about this event...

If Jan loses, this will be the first time someone has lost the LHW title via an actual loss since Shogun lost it to Jones in 2011 (two weeks away from being the 10-year anniversary). Jones and DC have been the only champs since and both vacated (Jones two times). Jones’ win over DC was overturned.
